A communicator by profession, I served the Reserve Bank for a little over 26 years and shaped its communication function and advised the Governors on strategising communication. Prior to the Reserve Bank, I worked with Business India, a business fortnightly. I wrote on banking, finance and central banking for the journal. I have also edited a professional journal for bankers for nearly 8 years in the initial part of my work life at the Indian Banks’ Association. This involved editing and rewriting articles written by senior bankers for a professional journal read by bankers. I have recently published a book titled ‘A Fly on the RBI Wall: An Insider’s View of the Central Bank’. The book covers my learnings of over 26 years in the communication space and while working with six stalwart governors. I have a masters degree each in Political Science and English from Mumbai University and also have a diploma in journalism. I currently advise on regulatory and strategic communication.
